From Side Hustle to Success Story: How Julie Berniger Struck Gold

Julie Berniger’s journey from project manager in the tech industry to successful entrepreneur is nothing short of inspiring. What began as a side hustle on Etsy has blossomed into a thriving business known as Gold City Ventures, bringing in upwards of $100,000 a month.

Starting in the tech world, Julie was attracted to the idea of financial independence and early retirement. Consuming personal finance podcasts and stories inspired her to explore her entrepreneurial path. Thus, Gold City Ventures began.

Launched initially as a side hustle, Julie’s Etsy shop tapped into a niche she knew well: bachelorette party essentials. Her keen eye for market demand and knack for identifying trends helped her to quickly find success selling temporary tattoos and digital products like bachelorette party scavenger hunts.

Julie recommends Etsy as a great resource for side hustlers. “What I love about Etsy is that it brings the customers (90 million per year) to you, and digital products are a low-risk small business since it doesn’t cost much to start, and you don’t have to buy inventory; you are just spending your time.”

Over time, she transitioned from an Etsy shop to a full-fledged business that provides online courses aimed at helping aspiring side hustlers navigate the world of e-commerce. Leveraging her experience and expertise, Julie developed a comprehensive curriculum and partnered with other entrepreneurs to provide valuable guidance and support to thousands of students worldwide.

Julie’s dedication to her venture has led her to an impressive monthly revenue exceeding $100,000. With a focus on community, education, and empowerment, Gold City Ventures continues to help aspiring entrepreneurs achieve their dreams of financial independence and business success.
